Earth-Watchers are a diverse group of individuals who share a common interest in protecting our planet. We meet once a month to discuss how we can shed environmental impact pounds and live "lighter," on the earth. We focus on individual actions as well as community systems to help us meet our goals.

Stonehouse California Olive Oil Receives Earth-Watcher's Earth Saver Award

Stonehouse California Olive Oil, 223 Front Street, near Peck Slip, South Street Seaport, offers discounts to customers who re-use olive oil bottles for refills. They offer a wide selection of dipping oils. Free samples are available when visiting the store. In addition, Stonehouse offers a wide selection of locally produced cheeses and other dairy products. They have also partnered with a local farmer to bring Community Supported Agriculture to the Seaport area.

Denise Trezza; Founder and Director

Denise grew up on Long Island, New York. She holds an environmental studies degree from Southampton College and a Masters of Education from Hunter College. Her experience as an environmental and science educator spans over 15 years and includes serving as; Education Director of the TR Sanctuary and Audubon Center, Onboard Educator, aboard the Schooner SoundWaters, and is currently a science teacher and coach for the New York City dept. of ed. and a volunteer for NYC Audubon's Project Safe Flight. She resides in Battery Park City with her husband and young daughter.

Heather Bell, Outreach Director
Heather grew up in Northern California. Her family greatly
influenced her appreciation of the natural environment. In San Francisco, as an active volunteer for the Marine Mammal Center, she cared for sick and injured seals and sea lions. Her yoga practice inspires her passion for eating healthy, local and organic food. She holds a BA in Political Science and Public Service from UC Davis and a Master's of Public Health in Health Policy and Administration from UC Berkley. She is experienced as a health care consultant specializing in employee health care benefits and has most recently directed the employee benefits and wellness activities for Bertelsmann Media. She resides in Battery Park City, NY with her husband and young daughter.
